Inspiration

Inspired by the wax-resist technique of this Indigo dyed batik textile document from Kravet’s Archive, the Molecule collection aims to reimagine Batik- a type of wax-resist dyeing technique that originated in the island of Java in Indonesia. It is characterized by the use of melted wax through a spouted tool called a canting, to draw dots or lines.
